Brain Swells

My brain is a reef, immersed in fluid. It’s subject to the same tidal influences as the sea.
Moon phases, astrological alignments, infusion by sunlight, occlusion by fog, even subtle changes in clouds overhead … all vary my mood, interests and capabilities.
Face this way or that, shave head, kink, straighten or part hair left or right, wear this or that hat, stand, slouch, sit, walk, some way or another; out doors or inside of wood, steel, or concrete building; hang with one person or another; the waves that crash/crumble/froth over the reef of each brain are influenced.
Lock or change my mind, what I mind and don’t mind; lock or change how I go about thinking and doing and the next brain waves break accordingly.

Sure, foods and drugs can build up or dissolve the reef as well. Do I drift into being less than I am? Or surf my way to uncharted domains of grandeur? Regardless of what waves went before, how I may have wiped out or shot the curl, every next ride builds the skill.
